The state has a handy website to accommodate a camper’s specific needs, and it is available at In Glacier Park, the Going-to-the-Sun Road is not fully open yet and while most of the campgrounds will be open by May 25, several will not open until later in the season. Canoe and kayak rentals are available near the boat ramp. Wildlife viewing is also nice in the area and there are some good OHV trails around. Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities including boating, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, swimming, hiking, horeseback riding, mountain biking and picnicking. There’s also a nice day-use area that has a boat ramp, picnic pavilion, volleyball court and other amenities. Amenities include drinking water (water spigots), vault toilets and a dump station. The campground is generally open mid May to early October. Campsites are fairly large and set among a mature forest of Western Larch and Douglas fir trees.
